Zone or Region:

Location:
Crag of Doom near Todd Lake
Did you observe any avalanches?
Yes
Avalanche Type:
Wet Slab
Size:
D2: Could bury, injure, or kill a person
Elevation:
6000
Aspect:
SE
Comments:
Witnessed several wet slab avalanches - one of which was released right next to us when a sluff from the top of the cliff landed on the slope and entrained snow. Slid all the way to the bottom of the SE facing slope. Large pinwheels - one was the size of a boulder. Also, a gully to our left also slid in a wet slab avalanche. While the wet heavy snow is in this area, this will be a risk for folks - especially if one stands to be swept into trees or a terrain trap or creek.
