Observation Date:

Zone or Region:
Central Cascades
Activity:
Skiing/Snowboarding
Location:
Todd Lake
None reported
Toured the ridge west of Todd Lake and skied an east aspect around 6800' with a 30° slope. On skin up the new snow felt right side up with ski pole tests and varied in depth from 30cm along parts of the ridge to 60cm in the lower glades closer to the lake. Was able to step above the skin track on a few non consequential slopes and didn't get any results. Hand shear tests showed the snow to be cohesive. Sky was mostly clear with intermittent clouds and light wind.
