Location:
Mt. Thielsen

Climbed to ~8k feet via west ridge and skied down the SW face. Lower elevation had decent coverage with a minimum of 2ft of snow-- up to 4ft deep and totally unconsolidated as you gain elevation. Lots of fun to ski but not so fun to put a skin track in.

No obvious instabilities noticed. A few hand-shears (up to 3 ft deep) gave very confidence inspiring results, and a small cornice kicked into the NW bowl didn't cause any trouble. Beautiful sunny day with not another soul on the mountain (besides my ski partner)!
